I've always loved to write and share stories, and starting this blog was something I've wanted to do since college. I finally bit the bullet, and Life, Scraps & Ink was born in December of 2010.
I envisioned my blog to be a place to share my scrapbook layouts and cards, and some recipes here and there. As I've learned, nothing is as you plan it, but still works out in the end.
My blog has turned into a running/foodie/life blog. I still scrapbook time to time, but not as much as I used to.
Born in Canada to Irish and British parents, I now call Wisconsin home with my husband, Tim, daughter, Philomena, and chihuahua puppy, Louie. I'm a UW-Madison grad with degrees in Journalism and Spanish including a semester abroad in Seville, Spain. I'm the Director of Marketing at Forte Research Systems, a company that creates solutions to streamline clinical trial research operations.
Any chance I get, I love to travel. Exploring our world and other cultures is one of the most interesting and humbling experiences you can do. Living in Spain taught me that, and gave me a hearty appetite for more.
I love to cook and try new recipes, and especially love eating breakfast for dinner. In the spring of 2013, my husband and I discovered a new lifestyle, Primal Blueprint, and have been trying to live a clean lifestyle since. Not only do we feel amazing, but have made some amazing meals, too. We've completed several Whole30's - it's a lot of work, but worth it. You can read about my experience here.
I love to scrapbook daily life - not just the big events. There's something to be said for appreciating everyday life and the little things that bring us true joy.
Another big part of my life is running. Running is my therapy, my path to sanity. It gives me something to work towards, to mentally and physically challenge myself. I've run many half marathons and three full marathons - and looking forward to many more races.
And finally, I was lucky enough at a young age to marry my best friend. Sheryl Sandberg once said, "The most important career choice you'll make is who you marry." And I know that I made a great choice.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you like!
