I've heard this happens; it's common, right?
Right after you accomplish a pretty big running goal, your running mojo/motivation/inspiration goes on vacation. And let me tell you, it's difficult to get back.
I was pretty strict about marathon training - never missed a long run, and missed very few short runs during the week. Also was going to bootcamp several times a week. But lately, the snooze button is kicking my running mojo's butt.
Also, this doesn't help:
Thanks to quickmeme.com, I can easily communicate exactly what Louie is trying to say to me. This is what I woke up to this morning - and it's really difficult to get out of bed.
I have enjoyed sleeping in a bit more, and maybe eating/drinking some naughty (read: unhealthier) things at time. BUT, as always, it gets old.
I'm hoping that the running mojo comes back in time for the Madison Mini on August 18th. I'm still debating on if I'm going to run a fall marathon (Haunted Hustle), but hoping the Mini and its race atmosphere gets me back into the swing of things, and running mojo is ready to go.
What did you do to get out of a running rut?
