It's Restaurant Week in Madison, WI! It's a week full of good food at good prices at delicious restaurants. Three course meals for $25 each, all organized by Madison Magazine.
Tim and I try to take advantage of the more expensive restaurants in Madison that participate, so that we are able to try their food at a lower price point, and decide if it's worth to go back for their regular menu.
We will definitely be going back to Harvest.
The restaurant itself is small but pleasant, and our waiter was very attentive and kind. The menu was a three course set menu - each course there were several options that you had to choose from.
Appetizer - Salad of Watermelon, Cucumber, Butler's Farm Feta Cheese, Dill, Basil, Mint, Honey-White Balsamic Vinaigrette
This was delicious and very fresh. The greens were slightly bitter which paired nicely with the sweetness from the watermelon. I said this to Tim, and his response was, "You've been watching too much Chopped on Food Network."
Main Course - House-made Ricotta Gnocchi, Farmer's Market Succotash, Herb Pesto
You could tell this gnocchi ws homemade - it was creamy and soft. So yummy. The veggies were slightly crisp and so fresh, and the light herb sauce pulled it all together. Very delicious!
Dessert - Chocolate Cake, Bourbon Mousse, Vanilla Ice Creme Anglaise
This cake was so rich, I only ate half of it - but it was very good. It had a hard chocolate crust on the outside, and a soft but dense chocolate inside - similar to a flourless cake. A perfect ending to a delicious meal.
Overall, I highly recommend Harvest - and during Restaurant Week is the perfect time to try!
Have you tried Harvest? If so, what's your favorite menu item?

Your meal looks awesome! Brody and I went to Harvest during Restaurant Week one winter. It was good but not amazing. We should give it another shot.

I had heard that Harvest wasn't as good during Restaurant Week, but I loved it. So definitely want to go back! We should go together :)
